After Esther’s suicide following her sudden cancer diagnosis, six friends are mailed an invitation to journey to her childhood home to, as they assume, memorialize her. Upon arriving, they open a second round of notes, instructing each of them to cross off an item from her incomplete bucket list. John is asked to “go to space:” Gibson, to “learn to cook.” Xavier is asked to “become fluent in Spanish,” while Chris is asked to “build something for real.” Bennett is asked to “see the Northern Lights” while, finally, Rebecca is asked to “have a family.” Driven by a common (and hidden) regret, John, Gibson, Xavier, Rebecca, Bennett, and Chris agree to attempt the tasks over the next three days.
As the friends struggle to resolve her last wishes, they confront the truth of their friendships, their pasts, and themselves. They all find that closure doesn't come until you crack open!
