Randal Kleiser is an alumnus of the renowned film school at USC. Studying alongside George Lucas and John Milius, Kleiser would go on to teach at the university. His breakthrough hit came when he directed John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John in the hit musical Grease (1978).
Kleiser's filmography also includes The Blue Lagoon (1980) starring Brooke Shields, Summer Lovers (1982) starring Peter Gallagher and Daryl Hannah and the adventure classic Flight of the Navigator (1986).
