Linda "Lin" Shaye is an American theater, film, and television actress. With various roles in multiple horror franchises, Shaye is regarded as a scream queen. She has appeared in A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), Critters (1986), Dead End (2003) and Insidious (2010), as well as many other horror films.
Shaye is also known for her comedic roles in many films by the Farrelly brothers, including Dumb and Dumber (1994), Kingpin (1996), and There's Something About Mary (1998). Shaye is also the younger sister of Robert "Bob" Shaye, founder and CEO of New Line Cinema, the production studio that distributed films such as the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise and Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
