Born on May 31, 1961, Lea Thompson would grow up to star in one of the greatest Hollywood blockbusters of all time. Her first role was a sequel to another blockbuster classic, Jaws 3 (1983) and her next role was opposite Tom Cruise in All the Right Moves (1983). Her big break came when as Lorraine Baines in the summer blockbuster Back to the Future (1985).
Thompson would go on to star in the subsequent Back to the Future sequels, reprising her role as Marty McFly's lovable girlfriend. She has had a long and successful career in front of the camera and has also directed episodes of some of the most well-known TV shows, including Switched at Birth (which she also starred in), Young Sheldon and Star Trek: Picard. In 2017 she made her feature directorial debut with the indie comedy The Year of Spectacular Men (2017).
