After a failed attempt at acting, a young Harrison Ford was working as a professional carpenter in Hollywood when he was cast in George Lucas' American Graffiti (1973). Four years later, Lucas cast him again in the sensational blockbuster Star Wars (1977), turning Ford into a household name.
Ford would go on to star as the title character in the Indiana Jones franchise and received Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations for his role in Witness (1985). He also starred as the lead in the hit action dramas Patriot Games (1992) and The Fugitive (1993).
Ford kicked off this century with the popular horror What Lies Beneath (2000), and in 2015 he reprised his role that made him a household name in Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens. He also appeared alongside Ryan Gosling in Blade Runner 2049 (2017), a sequel to the 1982 sci-fi classic.
In 2010, Ford married fellow actor Calista Flockhart and adopted her son, Liam Flockhart.
