Constance Wu is an American actress and the daughter of Taiwanese immigrants. After studying film in New York City, Wu's first roles came in 2006. She starred in the independent film festival favourites Stephanie Daley (2006) and Year of the Fish (2007).
From 2012, Wu starred in multiple episodes of the TV series Eastsiders, and in 2015 she was cast as a lead character in the abc TV comedy Fresh Off the Boat. In 2018, Wu starred in the smash romantic comedy hit Crazy Rich Asians, and a year later, she had top billing opposite Jennifer Lopez in Hustlers (2019).
In 2017, Wu was included on the annual Time 100 list of the most influential people in the world, with comedian Lena Dunham writing, "Constance Wu is a great actor...as one of the only actors to portray Asian-American womanhood on television—she is tasked with being more than just an actor".
