Clara Khoury

Clara Khoury was born on December 29, 1976 to the award-winning actor Makram Khoury in a Greek Orthodox family. She is a Christian Arab Israeli actress working in film, television, and theater. She married to Sean Foley, an American of Irish and Egyptian decent. She studied cinema at the Open University in Tel Aviv and drama at the Beit Zvi acting school. She is best known for her roles in Body of Lies, The Syrian Bride, and Rana’s Wedding. She gained international recognition in 2005 for her role in The Syrian Bride. She played ‘Mona’, a young Druze woman who enters into an arranged marriage with a Syrian national at the risk of rejection by her family. The film won the Audience Prize at the Locarno Film Festival.
