Twelve-year-old Itan has a promising life in San Francisco, looking after her younger brother Neto while her mum, Yoana, works nights to earn money for the family. Then one day, the family's life is turned upside down when Itan and Neto come home from school to find their mother has been taken away by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The children's next of kin is their estranged, bad-tempered uncle, Evencio, a big rig truck driver who is not equipped to look after his niece and nephew. Determined to get her mother back, Itan sets on a cross-country journey to stop Yoana's deportation.
Ana de la Reguera (Narcos, Army of the Dead) and Izabella Alvarez (Westworld, The Republic of Sarah) star in this powerful indie drama set during the Trump administration's crackdown on immigration.
